Before You Start

Steps

1. Find the Door Hanger Template

Go to canva.com and type "door hanger" in the search bar at the top. You'll see dozens of pre-made door hanger templates. Look for one that feels professional but not overly decorated — simple, bold text with space for your key message works best for roofing.

What you should see: A grid of door hanger designs in various colors and styles.

2. Pick a Template and Open It

Click on any template that looks clean and professional. It will open in the Canva editor. Don't worry about the existing colors or photos — you'll replace them.

Troubleshooting: If you get a "Pro" badge on a template, it's paid. Just click "Back" and choose a free one — there are plenty.

3. Use Magic Write to Draft Your Copy

Click anywhere on the text in the template, then look for the "Magic Write" button (it looks like a star/sparkle icon — usually appears when you click a text box, or find it under the "Apps" menu on the left sidebar).

4. Customize the Text

Edit the AI-generated copy to match your exact company name, number of local jobs, and phone number. Replace placeholder text throughout the template (address, website, etc.) with your real info.

Add these key elements:

Headline: Something like "We just replaced [#] roofs on this street"
Your certification (e.g., "GAF Master Elite Certified")
Your Google star rating
Phone number large and clear
QR code (optional — Canva can generate one)

5. Add Your Logo (or Type Your Company Name)

Click on any existing logo or image in the template. Click "Replace" or delete it and add your own. If you don't have a logo file, just delete that element and type your company name in a bold font.

6. Download and Print

Click Share (top right) → Download → choose PDF Print for the best print quality. Take the file to a local print shop (Staples, FedEx Office) and print on cardstock. Door hangers are inexpensive — typically $0.10–0.25 each for a batch of 500.
