For Roofing Sales Representatives ·
What you'll accomplish
By the end of this guide, you'll have JobNimbus AssistAI configured to answer inbound phone calls when you're on a roof or canvassing — capturing the caller's name, address, and reason for calling, and automatically creating a lead in your CRM pipeline. No more missed calls that become missed sales.
What you'll need
Log into JobNimbus (app.jobnimbus.com). Click on your account settings (gear icon, top right). Look for "AssistAI" or "AI Features" in the settings menu. If you don't see it, ask your manager — it may need to be enabled on your company's account.
What you should see: An AssistAI settings page where you can configure call handling.
Troubleshooting: If your account doesn't have AssistAI, ask your manager to check with JobNimbus support about upgrading. If you're an independent rep using JobNimbus personally, contact JobNimbus directly about which plan includes this feature.
In the AssistAI settings, find the "Greeting" or "Opening Message" field. Type a greeting that matches your company's voice. Example:
"Thanks for calling [Company Name]. I'm the virtual assistant for our roofing team. They're out in the field right now — but I can help get you scheduled for a free roof inspection. Can I get your name and address?"
Keep it friendly and honest — callers generally respond well to knowing they're talking to an AI assistant if it's framed helpfully.
What you should see: A text box where you type or edit the greeting your AI will speak.
In the follow-up questions section, configure it to collect:
These four data points are all your manager needs to assign the lead to you and get you on the road.
In the "Lead Creation" or "CRM Integration" settings, configure AssistAI to automatically create a new lead in JobNimbus when a call is completed. Set the default pipeline stage to "New Lead" or "Inbound Call" — whatever your company uses for unassigned leads.
What you should see: A toggle or dropdown that says something like "Create contact/lead from call" — turn it on.
Configure AssistAI to send you a text or push notification immediately after each call it handles. The notification should include the caller's name, address, and what they said they're calling about.
This way, even when you're on a roof, you know within 60 seconds when a lead called in — and can call them back during your next break.
What you should see: A notifications settings section where you enter your phone number and preferred notification type (text, email, push notification).
Call your own business number from a different phone (or have a friend call). Walk through the AssistAI interaction as if you were a homeowner. Verify:
Adjust the greeting or questions based on what felt awkward.
